SPRING RUN OFF ELECTION

MAIL BALLOT

As you know, this is a challenging time for all of us. In light of recent events, particularly the guidelines instituted for public gatherings because of COVID-19, on March 23, 2020 we decided it best to conduct the Spring 2020 Run Off election by mail ballot. Be assured all proper precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of your vote and to this end the Local’s independent elections company, California Elections Company (CEC), will handle this mail ballot election. CEC, who currently conducts our in person elections has over twenty-five years of experience conducting labor organizations’ elections and mail ballot elections.  

Spring Run Off Election ballots will be mailed out on Friday, April 10, 2020.  If you do not receive your ballot by Thursday, April 16, 2020, please call Irene Huerta (310) 830-1130 x115 or email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. immediately to have a new ballot be sent to you.  ILWU Local 13 will NOT have ballots at the office so make sure you request your new ballot in a timely manner to be accounted for.  

It is the responsibility of the members to update your address, phone and email.  Call the Dues office at (310) 830-1130 extensions #118 or #126 to update.

Mail ballots must be received at the P.O. Box by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2020 to be counted – NO EXCEPTIONS.  Once the ballots are counted, the results will be posted on the website at www.ilwu13.com.  The new Officers/Committee members will be sworn in immediately after. Everything is changing by the hour so things may change.
