    The standard work shifts and work week consist of the first 8 hours on the first shift, the first 8 hours on the second shift and the first 5 hours on the third shift, Monday through Friday. Work outside the standard work shifts on Monday through Friday and all work on Saturdays, Sundays, and Agreement Holidays is overtime work.

The 1 hour of work before or after the first and second shifts shall be paid at 1.5 times the straight time rate and on the third shift at 1.8 times the straight time rate.

The phrase “other than actual handling or moving of cargo” is intended to permit the preparation of cargo for movement to or from the vessel so long as there is no actual movement of cargo directly to or from the vessel.
